What to Watch: March 17, 2026

The market is moving fast after Nvidia’s big news. Here are 5 things you should watch today:
1. The Power Search: Energy Stocks
Nvidia needs 150 GW of power for its $1 trillion goal. That is like 75 Hoover Dams or almost every home in America!

Watch: Is money moving out of tech and into power companies? If we don't have enough electricity, those AI chips won't work.

2. Big Tech Profits: Are They Losing Money?
If companies like Microsoft, Google, and Meta spend $1 trillion on chips, their own profits might drop.

Watch: Look for "shrinking prices" for these big companies today. Investors are starting to worry: are these giants just working for Nvidia?

3. The Fed: Will Interest Rates Stay High?
Some Fed leaders might speak today before the big March meeting.

Watch: If they say rates will stay high, it will be very expensive to borrow money for AI. This could lead to canceled orders for Nvidia.

4. Self-Driving Cars: The Real Use for AI
There are rumors that new laws will make it easier for self-driving cars (L4) to hit the road soon.(Market rumors say it might be China. I don't think it will happen that fast, but it’s definitely worth watching.

Watch: Check the stock prices for Tesla and Waymo. Self-driving cars are the best way for AI to make money right now.

5. Japan: The Global Money Flow
Japan might raise interest rates soon because prices are going up there.

Watch: If rates go up in Japan, investors might take their money out of U.S. tech stocks and move it back home. This could make U.S. stock prices fall.

6.EV Sales are Growing Fast
EVs are actually selling more than ever.

By the Numbers: In 2023, the world sold 14 million EVs. By 2026, we expect to sell 25 million.

The Future: By 2030, 40 million new EVs will be sold every year. That is almost half of all new cars!
